Toastmasters Club

        TEXAS TALKERS TOASTMASTERS  
     AWARDED DISTINGUISHED STATUS!
 
 On Tuesday, July 29th the Distinguished Club ribbon was awarded to
 Texas Talkers Toastmasters in recognition of the clubs achieving 6 of
 the 10 goals required.  Jack Hathaway, DTM - Division H Governor
 presented the prestigious award to Keith Engelke, DTM who is
 serving as the Club President.
 
 
 The official Club Officer Induction Ceremony was held during our
 meeting on July 1, 2008.  Pictured above left to right are: Jack

 Club President; Amy Lazar - Secretary/Treasurer; Irene Alvarado -
 Sergeant at Arms; Anna Borel - Vice President/Education and Al
 Dorsey, CC - Vice President Membership.
 
On Tuesday, June 24th our club was honored to have a special guest
presenter.  Dick Harder, DTM paid us a visit and treated the club to
an incredible learning experience.  He presented, "Thirty Ways To Do
Table Topics" and had a full house participating in multiple exercises
in the art of effective Table Topics.
 
 On May 27th Texas Talkers Toastmasters Distinguished Club was
 pleased to welcome the Division I Speech Champion, Gene Grindle,
 who came to practice for the upcoming District Speech Contest.  The 
 club provided Gene with a roundtable evaluation to help him prepare
 for the competition.
 
 On April 15,  2008 our Distinguished Club 6457 continued to grow and
 develop with the addition of two new members to its ranks.  Pictured
 from left to right are Mike Sawtelle and Michael Ratliff.
 
 On March 22,  2008 the Area H-82 International Speech Contest was
 held.  Second Place was won by Gus Villarreal representing the Valero
 Energy Toastmasters Club.  First Place was won by our very own
 Vice President of Membership and member of Texas Talkers Club
 6457 Al Dorsey.  Al will advance to the Division H International
 Speech Contest to be held on April 19, 2008.  Congratulations Al!

The Banquet Room of The Taste of China Super Buffet,  near I-10 and Wurzbach Rd (3711 Colony Dr, situated behind HEB) in northwest San Antonio, Texas.
Club meetings begin at 6:30 P.M. every Tuesday evening and last for approximately one hour.  Guests are welcome.

how?At Texas Talkers Toastmasters, members learn by doing; speaking before an audience in a supportive environment.  At Toastmasters, we believe that we learn best when we enjoy ourselves.   We meet at 6:30 pm every Tuesday. Each meeting lasts for 75 minutes and gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.
