TEXAS TALKERS TOASTMASTERS

     CLUB CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED!
 
The Texas Talkers Club International Speech and Evaluation Contests
were held on March 9, 2010 in the world famous Banquet Room of the
Taste of China Restaurant.  Pictured above are the winners of each
respective contest from left to right:  Chad Schultz, 2nd Place for
Evaluation;  Guy Langley, 1st Place for Evaluation;  Jack Hathaway
1st Place for International Speech; and Bill Greenham 2nd Place for
International Speech.  The first place winners in each contest will have
the honor of representing Texas Talkers in the Area Contest being held
on Thursday,  March 25th.  We wish them all the best in that contest.
 
 
On January 5,  2010 a new Club Officer Installation Ceremony was held
at Texas Talkers Toastmasters Select Distinguished Club 6457 and the
above members were recognized.  Pictured left to right are:  Tony
Reyna, ACG - Club President;  Cynthia Mojica - Vice President - Education;
Sangeeta Gupta - Secretary/Treasurer;  Mike Sawtelle - Vice President -
Public Relations and Keith Engelke, DTM - Sergeant at Arms.  Two of
the Club's Officers were unable to attend;  Al Dorsey, Vice President -
Membership and Guy Langley,  Immediate Past President.  These
esteemed members will serve in these positions until June 30,  2010.

       The Area H-84 Table Topics Contest was held September 26th and
       one of our accomplished members won 1st Place in the contest.  Our
       very own Al Dorsey is holding his trophy and smiling proudly with
       the knowledge that he will be advancing to the Division H Contest
       which is being held on October 3rd.  Congratulations Al on this
       impressive accomplishment while representing Texas Talkers Select
       Distinguished Club 6457.

       The Texas Talkers Toastmasters Select Distinguished Club 6457
       Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contests were held on September
       16,  2009 and the winners are pictured above.  The 1st Place winner
       of the Humorous Speech Contest is pictured above in the middle. 
       Sangeeta Gupta will represent our Club in the upcoming Area Speech
       Contest and the member on the right,  Al Dorsey,  will represent the
       Club in the Table Topics Contest to be held the same day.  The 2nd
       Place winner in the Table Topics Contest is pictured on the left and
       he is Mike Sawtelle.  Congratulations to everyone who participated.

         On Tuesday,  June 30, 2009 the official Club Officer Installation
         Ceremony was held during the Texas Talkers Toastmasters meeting
         and the above members were recognized.  Pictured left to right are:
         Guy Langley, ACB - Club President; Tony Reyna, ACS - V. P. of
         Education; Al Dorsey, CC - V. P. of Membership;  Amy Lazar, CC -
         Secretary/Treasurer; Mike Sawtelle - V. P. Public Relations and
         Felipe Gomez - Sergeant at Arms.  These new Club Officers will
         serve in these positions through the rest of this year.

        On June 2nd a formal New Member Induction Ceremony was held
        during our meeting.  Two new members were presented with New
        Member Certificates and Toastmasters Club Pins.  Pictured above
        proudly displaying their certificates are Abhishek Agrawal and
        Sangeeta Gupta.

The Banquet Room of The Taste of China Super Buffet,  near I-10 and Wurzbach Rd (3711 Colony Dr, situated behind HEB) in northwest San Antonio, Texas.
Club meetings begin at 6:30 P.M. every Tuesday evening and last for approximately one hour.  Guests are welcome.

how?At Texas Talkers Toastmasters, members learn by doing; speaking before an audience in a supportive environment.  At Toastmasters, we believe that we learn best when we enjoy ourselves.   We meet at 6:30 pm every Tuesday. Each meeting lasts for 75 minutes and gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.
